Corporate Accounting, Audit and Taxation

The quality of Audit work performed has always been seen as a measure of the standard of a firm of Chartered Accountants.  In this area, we have a particularly strong team covering an extremely wide variety of clients over the years.  Auditing requires an up to date knowledge of legislation and current accounting events and we ensure that our staff are kept fully up to date with such matters.  Auditing has always evolved with the changes in business and it is important that our own techniques are kept fully up to date.  We use a “paperless” Audit system, which is continuously updated for changes in legislation. This is accessible by all staff, not only in the office, but also in the field.

Whilst Auditing is the external evidence of our work for our clients, we also provide detailed financial strategy to our corporate clients. This inevitably includes taxation, business management, investment and long term financial planning.

We believe our clients more than appreciate our ability to think outside of the box and to come up with a range of solutions from which they can make their own personal judgement.

International Affairs

We regularly act for Companies controlled from overseas or who themselves have overseas investments. Through our membership of Polaris International, we are able to deal with issues such as Corporate Taxes, VAT, Payroll Taxes, local legislative requirements and business advice.

Non-Corporate and Personal Advice

We deal with a number of Partnerships and Sole Traders, who in some instances are large and require as much advice on accounting issues as our Corporate Clients.  Long term financial planning inevitably involves issues of retirement and succession.  We know that it is important to ascertain truly what the client is seeking and to try and arrange matters to accord with that.  Obviously, clients require a considerable amount of personal tax advice for these matters, including not only those involving Income Tax but also Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Value Added Tax and one or two more specialist problems.  We consider that our personal understanding of our clients’ affairs and business is essential to good advice on their tax matters.
