CLB Gatwick LLP is a four partner firm, which operates from Horley, Surrey, one mile from Gatwick Airport. The firm was created in 2005 following the merger of the Reigate Office of CLB and Durrani, Pannett & Co based in Horley. Both of these firms had been operating in excess of 25 years. Durrani, Pannett & Co had been training Graduate Students since 1985. During that time, they have had one National Prize-winner and four finalists placed in the Top 10 Students in South East England (outside London).
We only recruit graduates from a ‘main stream’ UK University. We do not restrict ourselves to any particular discipline of graduate. The most important attributes for applicants is to show a commitment to Chartered Accountancy and the work needed to qualify. We look for people with an enquiring mind and an ability to express themselves both to us and potentially to our clients. Academically, we require 300 Points at ‘A’ Level and a 2.1 degree. We do not accept students requiring work permits.
We tend to recruit two students a year but we also look to recruit outside of the core September intake. We normally have eight students under contract at any one time.
As a firm, we are general practitioners and can therefore offer work experience in Accounting, Payroll, Auditing, Personal and Corporate Tax and the odd special exercise. Our clients are based principally in the South East but we go as far as Belfast, Leeds, Bristol, and Milton Keynes. Our clients cover nearly every conceivable type of business including Charities and AIM Listed Companies.
We only train English ACA Students and we use both FTC and BPP to carry out their formal training. The particular choice varies with the exam sitting concerned and the location of the students themselves. Thus, training can take place in London, Croydon, Crawley or Maidstone.
